On 25 June 2026, our Consultant, Alfred Lam, was invited to appear on TVB Channel’s programme 新界鄉議局一百周年呈獻：保家衛國 薪火相傳.

During the programme, Mr. Lam offered his insights on the history and development of the New Territories, while also addressing the legal framework surrounding indigenous inhabitants’ rights. As a Justice of the Peace (New Territories) and an Ex Officio Member of the Heung Yee Kuk, he explored the historical foundations of these rights, their evolution over time, and the importance of balancing tradition with modern legal and societal considerations.

Mr. Lam also highlighted the continued relevance of these issues in today’s legal landscape, particularly in relation to land use, inheritance rights, and the preservation of cultural heritage in Hong Kong.
