1885

FOUNDING ROOTS

Mr. John Hastings (the name of Hastings & Co. originates from this lawyer) was admitted on 22nd May 1885 as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Judicature in England.

1904

FIRM ESTABLISHED

In January 1904, he established his own law firm named Hastings, John Solicitors (lawyers, conveyancers, litigation agents, international notaries, patent and trademark agents).

1934

EVOLUTION OF IDENTITY

Until 1934, the firm was named Hastings, Dennys & Bowley (later renamed Hastings & Co.), and this name has been used ever since.

1967 - 1972

BREAKING NEW GROUND

In November 1967 and April 1972, Peter Ping- Lam Li and Tony Kai- Tung Wong respectively became the first two Chinese solicitors admitted as partners.

1993

EXPANSION INTO CHINESE MAINLAND

In 1993, with approval from the Ministry of Justice in Beijing, we opened our Shenzhen Branch Office, marking a significant step in serving clients across Greater China

1996

LEADERSHIP ADVANCEMENT

In January 1996, Mr. YUNG Ching Tat officially assumed the role of Senior Partner, reinforcing our commitment to experienced leadership and client-focused service

2023

STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP

The Articles of China Commercial Hastings (Futian) Associate Law Firm (华商希仕廷（福田）联营律师事务所) took effect on 11 May 2023 to deliver integrated legal solutions for cross-border clients
