On 16 June 2026, our Managing Partner, Kenneth Yung, and Partner, Simon Siu, were invited to attend the PCPD 30th Anniversary Privacy Protection Summit held at the Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong.
The Summit brought together privacy regulators, data protection experts, industry leaders, and academics from Hong Kong, the Chinese Mainland and overseas to discuss emerging trends in artificial intelligence (AI), their implications for privacy, and the evolving regulatory landscape across jurisdictions. Speakers also explored how data privacy can be balanced with innovation in an increasingly digital economy.
We found the sessions particularly insightful in highlighting how regulators are balancing privacy protection with innovation, as well as the growing need for regulatory alignment and proactive risk management. The discussions also addressed the practical challenges of implementing robust data protection frameworks, providing valuable takeaways for advising clients in an increasingly complex data environment.
